Edit: Please look at the Maps of VTES Sects Around the World Page and add comments if your country/state is marked as the wrong sect. Particularly if you have done a BYOStoryline recently
I'm wondering if there is a list anywhere that details, or at least suggests, which countries/cities/states are owned by which Sects. Some I know...
Western Australia: Anarch (Fee Stake: Perth)
Toronto Canada: Sabbat (Lots of Archbishops, no Princes)
Massachusets USA: Camarilla
Greece: Camarilla (Spiridonas)
China & Northern Asia: Kuei-Jin
But what about many other places? I'm planning to set up a little page and try keep across people's BYO Storylines to build up a map of how the Sects are going across the world. I need your help with this...
First you must decide camarilla/sabbat according to what. Vtes or WoD or WoD 3rd ed. You could argue that it is one and the same, but there are some discrepancies.
ReplyDeleteConcerning Australia then there are references to Sidney being Camarilla in Constantinople by night (and probably in the WoD sourcebooks), but largely europe= Camarilla with the main exception of Spain(sabbat) Russia (Baba Yaga), Italy mostly sabbat up until Giangalezzos treachery in Milan where he defected to the Camarilla and so on...the World of darkness sourcebooks are a must if you want to try to map this.

Well, considering that we are VTES players predominantly and now the only remaining oWoD 'canon'... VTES-based locations.

Are there only Princes/Archbishops in this area?
Are there BOTH Princes & Archbishops in similar groupings (G3-4, G2-3,G4-5)?
Are there other cards that refer to a city? (e.g. Fee Stake: Perth)
I'll post up somewhere the images I've done so far and maybe edit them to look more "computer screen" and less "high-school geography textbook".

I dug around there and updated a fair bit today. I'll amend the images soon. I'm very keen to have people's storylines affect this map as VTES is the oWoD Canon, now that WW created NWoD

ReplyDeleteWhat I mean is. You can have a prince in g4-5 which is the latest iteration in Vtes but in oWoD canon is dethroned by a prince/archbishop et al from an earlier group. I wouldnt mind rumaging through the couple of WoD books at home and try to send you what I have. It´s a intresting/wonderful endeavor especially if it was manageable to get it as a world map.
ReplyDeleteThe Vtes part shouldn´t be so hard by just looking through ardb et al. Have you posted what you´ve done so far so that potential contributors could now what sources you have gone through so far?
The current "prince" of Lisboa (Portugal) is Masika, from a previous BYOS.

Mostly I've been digging through ARDB. Some Domains have had long lists of Princes, others long lists of Archbishops, others have a big mix of both Princes & Archbishops, LA (and most of California) has been the Anarch Free State...
ReplyDeleteSo I'm just compiling that information. When people run BYOStorylines (or the Official Storylines) then certain regions around the world may change their allegiances. If the result is decisive for a certain region, then it will change sects. If the result is much more murky, then it will become Contested. Others always have been, and always will be, owned by Independent Clans (like Egypt owned by Setites, Iran/Iraq owned by Assamites)
Those where there are no Princes from VTES (or books or other lists) or Archbishops or Barons... they will be listed as Uncontrolled.
